Keep believing in yourself

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren’t the way you had hoped they would be, that’s when you have to tell yourself that things will get better.

There are times when people disappoint you and let you down, but those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself and all that you are capable of.

There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.

Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are, so when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be, because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.

What you see in others, shows you yourself

The world around you is a reflection, a mirror showing you the person you are. To change your world, you must change yourself. To blame and complain will only make matters worse. Whatever you care about, is your responsibility.

We can love and accept ourselves

No matter how much chaos may be going on around us, no matter how many things may be going wrong or not the way we want them to, no matter what our bodies may be doing at the moment—we can love and accept ourselves. For the truth of us—the very truth of our being—is that we’re eternal. We have always been and we always will be. And that part of ourselves goes on forever. Rejoice that this is so. As we love and accept ourselves exactly as we are, it makes it easier to go through the so-called difficult times. We’re no longer fighting ourselves. We’re accepting. We’re becoming tender. We’re cherishing ourselves. We’re comforting ourselves and making it easier for ourselves.

Make your day bright

Take 5 minutes today before you start your day and be present in the new beginning you are about to embark on. Take stock of all the beauty around you, say your grace, set your intention to have a bright and beautiful day! If you start on a positive note, you more than likely will maintain that energy throughout your whole day!

Avoid over-thinking and social comparison

Comparing yourself to someone else can be poisonous. If we’re somehow ‘better’ than the person that we’re comparing ourselves to, it gives us an unhealthy sense of superiority, our ego inflates. If we’re ‘worse’ than the person that we’re comparing ourselves to, we usually discredit the hard work that we’ve done and dismiss all the progress that we’ve made. What I’ve found is that the majority of the time this type of social comparison doesn’t stem from a healthy place. If you feel called to compare yourself to something, compare yourself to an earlier version of yourself.

See the world like a child

Have you ever thought about the difference between how a child — before he or she knows any language — and an adult, sees the world and learns? The major difference is that the infant cannot think in words. Their awareness is pristine.

Try this for fun:
Go for a walk by yourself, and make a commitment that you won’t think in words at all. Of course you will have worded thoughts entering your mind, but just let them go, then get back to how an infant sees the world. Just be aware of your surroundings; the sights, sounds, and smells. Take it all in without labeling any of it.

Now it may sound impossible but it develops quickly with practice. You will be amazed at how this simple exercise will change how you feel. Such a simple thing really, but it can change your life.
